FIDES Aprueba en su Asamblea Anual el Nombramiento de su Nuevo Presidente y de su Secretario General
En el marco del XXXVI Congreso de la Federación Interamericana de Empresas de Seguros (FIDES) que se celebró el mes pasado en El Salvador, tuvo lugar la celebración de la Asamblea Anual de los miembros del Comité de la Federación. Como viene siendo habitual en el marco de este Congreso, se realizó el traspaso de cargos de la presidencia que es de carácter bianual.
Así, Pilar González de Frutos, presidenta saliente, se mantiene en el Congreso de la presidencia como Past President y le da el testigo a Luis Enrique Bandera, Vicepresidente y Gerente General de la panameña General de Seguros, que se convierte en el Presidente de FIDES.
También se ha aprobado el relevo en la Secretaría General, que será oficial a partir de principios del próximo mes de enero, cuando Francisco Astelarra, actual Presidente de la Asociación Argentina de Compañías de Seguros (AACS), tome las riendas de este puesto. El actual Secretario General, Raúl de Andrea, ha recibido grandes elogios por parte de todo el Comité de FIDES “por un trabajo ejemplar e impecable durante todos estos años”, han destacado durante la asamblea.
Elementos para la Expansión del Seguro en América Latina
Asimismo, en el marco de esta reunión se han tratado otros temas de interés, como el caso de varias acciones impulsadas por los miembros en el ámbito regulatorio, así como la presentación del informe “Elementos para la expansión del Seguro en América Latina” presentado por Manuel Aguilera Verduzco, Director General de Servicio de Estudios de MAPFRE, en el mismo se realiza un exhaustivo análisis del documento que busca determinar los factores asociados a la penetración del seguro en la región y que se elabora con el objetivo de que todas las asociaciones puedan generar un mayor desarrollo del seguro en Latinoamérica.

FIDES Approves the Appointment of its New President and its Secretary General at its Annual Assembly
Within the framework of the XXXVI Congress of the Inter-American Federation of Insurance Companies (FIDES) that was held last month in El Salvador, the Annual Meeting of the members of the Federation Committee took place. As it has been usual in the framework of this Congress, the transfer of positions of the presidency that is of biannual character was carried out.
Thus, Pilar González de Frutos, outgoing president, remains in the presidential Congress as past president and gives the witness to Luis Enrique Bandera, Vice President and General Manager of the Panamanian General of Insurance, who becomes the President of FIDES.
It has also been approved the relay in the General Secretariat, which will be official from the beginning of next January, when Francisco Astelarra, current President of the Argentine Association of Insurance Companies (AACS), take the reins of this position. The current Secretary General, Raúl de Andrea, has received great praise from the entire FIDES Committee "for an exemplary and impeccable work during all these years", highlighted during the Assembly.

Also, in the framework of this meeting other topics of interest have been discussed, such as the case of several actions promoted by the members in the regulatory field, as well as the presentation of the report "Elements for the Expansion of Insurance in Latin America" presented by Manuel Aguilera Verduzco, General Director of the Study Service of MAPFRE, in which a thorough analysis of the document that seeks to determine the factors associated with the penetration of insurance in the region and that is developed with the aim of all associations generate greater insurance development in Latin America.
