TransRe Anuncia Cambios en el Liderazgo de América Latina
Javier Vijil se convertirá en presidente no ejecutivo de la región y permanecerá en el consejo de TransRe. Durante el tercer trimestre de 2019, después de 26 años con TransRe y luego de una transición de liderazgo regional, Javier Vijil se retirará de su papel ejecutivo.
Javier fundó TransRe Latin America y la División del Caribe cuando abrió la oficina en Miami en 1993. Desde entonces, ha integrado al equipo en la preeminente reaseguradora regional, con relaciones extensas a lo largo de Sudamérica, Centroamérica y el Caribe.
Javier continuará brindando asesoramiento y asistencia en su nuevo cargo como presidente no ejecutivo de TransRe Latin América, además de continuar sirviendo en la Junta de TransRe.
Mike Sapnar dijo: “Javier ha sido una institución en TransRe desde antes de que me uniera. Siempre he confiado en su consejo, y él es más que un simple colega; es un mentor y me enorgullece decir que es un amigo. Estoy encantado de que él haya aceptado continuar en la empresa, tanto como Director de TransRe como nuestro Presidente no ejecutivo para América Latina y el Caribe”.
Como parte de la transición de liderazgo, TransRe fusionará las divisiones de América del Norte y América Latina en TransRe América, liderado por Ken Brandt como Presidente. Mike Sapnar continuó: “Javier y yo hemos trabajado estrechamente con Ken los últimos trece años. Ken ha viajado extensamente en la región y, como Ejecutivo Senior y miembro de la Junta, está muy familiarizado con la cartera y su importancia para TransRe.
En lugar de Javier como presidente de América Latina y el Caribe, TransRe contrató a Jorge Beltrán, quien informará a Ken Brandt. Jorge se reincorpora a TransRe después de casi 12 años con Validus Re, más recientemente como jefe de treaty business para Latinoamérica. Jorge tiene una excelente reputación en la región con relaciones extensas a largo plazo. Adicionalmente a su rol anterior en TransRe, Jorge tiene experiencia previa en liderazgo en Liberty Mutual, SCOR y Swiss Re. Jorge tiene un BS en Matemáticas de la Universidad de Illinois, y es un veterano de seis años del Cuerpo de Marines de los Estados Unidos.

TransRe Announces Changes in Latin American Leadership
Javier Vijil will become the non-executive president of the region and will remain on the TransRe Board. During the third quarter of 2019, after 26 years with TransRe and after a transition of regional leadership, Javier Vijil will retire from his executive role.
Javier founded TransRe Latin America and the Caribbean Division when he opened the office in Miami in 1993. Since then, he has integrated the team into the pre-eminent regional reinsurer, with extensive relationships throughout South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Javier will continue to provide advice and assistance in his new position as Non-Executive Chairman of TransRe Latin America, in addition to continuing to serve on the TransRe Board. Mike Sapnar said: "Javier has been an institution at TransRe since before I joined. I have always trusted his advice, and he is more than a simple colleague; he is a mentor and I am proud to say that he is a friend. I am delighted that he has agreed to continue in the company, both as Director of TransRe and as our Non-Executive Chairman for Latin America and the Caribbean."
As part of the leadership transition, TransRe will merge the North America and Latin America divisions into TransRe Americas, led by Ken Brandt as President. Mike Sapnar continued: "Javier and I have worked closely with Ken the last thirteen years. Ken has traveled extensively in the region and, as a Senior Executive and member of the Board, he is very familiar with the portfolio and its importance to TransRe”.
Instead of Javier as president of Latin America and the Caribbean, TransRe hired Jorge Beltrán, who will inform Ken Brandt. Jorge rejoins TransRe after almost 12 years with Validus Re, most recently as head of treaty business for Latin America. Jorge has an excellent reputation in the region with extensive long-term relationships. In addition to his previous role at TransRe, Jorge has previous leadership experience at Liberty Mutual, SCOR and Swiss Re. Jorge has a BS in Mathematics from the University of Illinois, and he is a six-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
